Bath Pizza Co shortlisted for National Award
We’ve been shortlisted for the third year running for the Pizza and Pasta Association Awards!
Head Chef Jonah Pole and Second Chef Ryan Cuss have had their entries to the awards shortlisted alongside the industry’s top chefs. The 2020 shortlist comes off the back of winning gold at the 2019 awards for Independent Pizzeria of the Year.
The event this year will be a virtual one and will welcome pizza chefs across the country to showcase their concepts to industry leading judges.
The 2020 Pizzaiolo of the Year Challenge will see the best pizza chefs across the UK compete in the awards on November 12th 2020 via video call. Both Jonah and Ryan’s concepts have been successful in the shortlist for the Futura Foods category.
Director, Alex Peters said: “To have not one but two chefs competing in the pinnacle event for the UK’s pizza industry is fantastic and a real testament to the work Jonah and Ryan are putting in. They’ve worked incredibly hard since we reopened in June after lockdown - I’m over the moon for them.
“Our pizzas receive wonderful feedback locally in Bath so to receive further national recognition is brilliant. It’s awesome for Ryan and Jonah as they’re been producing outstanding pizza consistently for a long time here at Bath Pizza Co and deserve this accolade. We look forward to the virtual competition in November!”
Ryan Cuss: Macauli N Cheese Pizza
Ingredients:
1 ball Bath Pizza Co dough
100g Small Cauliflower Florets
50g Macaroni
5 Rashers of Smoked Streaky Bacon
50g Salted Butter
50g Plain Flour
500ml Whole Fat Milk
100g Extra Mature West Country Cheddar
60g Grated Parmesan
120g Pro Mozzarella
5g Chopped Parsley
Jonah Pole: The Butternut Sage
Ingredients:
120g Futura Pro Grated Mozzarella
1 ball Bath Pizza Co dough
1 Garlic Clove
4 Sage leaves (thin)
4 Sage leaves (deep fried)
1 Lemon (zest)
3 spoons Cumin Butternut
40g Parmesan, grated
