Happy Hour

Happy Hour on the main Brasserie bar (5-7pm) has had a refresh with new cocktails available on their 2 for 1 deal as well as Bottles of House Red, White and Rose Wine available for just £15. Bottles of Prosecco £18.

Gluten free dough

Our gluten free dough is still available however, please be aware that we are now charging a £2 supplement. We’ve toyed long and hard on this decision, however, with our costs increasing to produce this product we sadly can no longer afford to not charge a small supplement. As much as we love making pizza, we sadly have bills to pay like all businesses!

Tags: Child friendly restaurant, Family dining in Bath

We’ve loved hosting so many families and groups of friends over the festive season. Having become a firm favourite for locals, we’re delighted to be a go to casual dining place for our local Bath community.

Over the festive season we’ve been asked a few questions by families visiting us so we hope the answers below will provide a helpful heads up for visiting us here at Green Park Station.

faqs for families and child friendly dining

Do you welcome children?

Yes, we’re pleased to be child friendly and are able to offer a relaxed, friendly environment for the kids to run about and enjoy our award winning pizza.

Do you have high chairs available?

Yes, our sister business, Green Park Brasserie, has several high chairs available that we can assist you with (assuming they are not already in use). The Brasserie is connected directly to us at Bath Pizza Co, but please let us know if you need any help.

What’s on the menu for children?

Pizzas, ice cream, salads, garlic bread, bruschetta and more.

Our pizzas are freshly made to order and are 12 inches in diameter using only the best locally sourced and Italian ingredients from our outstanding suppliers. Our hand made dough is a closely guarded recipe that ensures we produce a consistent and high quality pizza dough.

Do you make child sized pizzas?

No, we don’t make smaller sized pizzas but recommend sharing a pizza between two children as they are light, but filling - you can always order more or grab a delicious organic Marshfield Farm Ice Cream for pudding.

Our friendly team will gladly advise what we can provide should your child have any specific dietary requirements, please don’t hesitate to ask if you have any doubts or concerns about your child’s dietary requirements or food intolerance.

Can our children watch their pizza being made?

Absolutely! We can’t allow customers directly into the kitchen but you’re very welcome to pull up a seat and watch our fantastic pizza chefs doing their thing from our serving area.

Do you do Children’s parties?

We often receive requests for children’s parties here at Bath Pizza Co. Unfortunately we’re unable to reserve space for large groups on our busy days (Weds - Sunday) however, we can sometimes reserve space for children's parties on Mondays and Tuesdays, get in touch here.

Do you do offer child friendly events?

Yes, at Bath Pizza Co we host some exciting child friendly live music summer events from May through to August. With the Bath Festival, Bath Fringe Festival and Bath Folk Festival in full swing, Green Park Station is a great space to let the kids let off some steam and run around before tucking in to some lunch.

Are there other restaurants for children in Bath?

Yes, our sister business Green Park Brasserie has a children’s menu offering Crab and Crayfish Cakes, Pasta dishes, Chicken Salads and Cheese and Tomato Tarts. Bath is a foodie hot bed and many restaurants in Bath city centre do offer a children’s menu or smaller portions.

If you’ve any other questions about Bath Pizza Co or our pizza menu please don’t hesitate to give out friendly team a shout via email, Facebook or by phone (01225 588886).

Q&A with Ben Fletcher

Questions and answer session with Olympic judoka, Ben Fletcher.

We recently announced our partnership with Bath based Olympian (and quite possibly Bath Pizza Co's number one fan), Ben Fletcher.

Here we catch up with Ben in a Q&A session to learn more about the Judo world, his diet, nutrition and love for pizza.

Bath Pizza Co: Ben, we’re really excited to be partnering with you. How did you first get into Judo?

Ben Fletcher: My family is a really judo oriented: my mum and dad, three older half brothers and older sister have all done the sport so I just followed suit and loved it just like they all did.

Bath Pizza Co: What are your ambitions over the next 2 to 3 years?

Ben Fletcher: My long term ambition is to win the Tokyo 2020 Olympic games. In the meantime I just want to try and improve everyday and make small steps to making my long term goal of winning in Tokyo.

Bath Pizza Co: We’d love to know more about your training routine, nutrition and diet as a professional athlete. What does a typical day look like for you?

Ben Fletcher: My usual days training regime is 2 to 3 times a day, 5 days a week. The training will depend on the time of year and proximity to a major events. We as judo players take part in a variety of different types of training but mainly spend a lot of the time on the judo tatami tinkering with techniques, sparring and then spend a lot of time in the gym or on the running track working on specific areas of strength and conditioning relevant to what we need in competition.

Nutrition becomes really important then because as I say, as a judo athlete I train a lot and need really good quality food for both the energy to train but then also to recover the best I can. I take in about 5,000 calories a day over 5 or 6 meals but have to make sure that the calories I take in are really high quality sources of protein, carbohydrate and fat and also in the right levels of each too.

Bath Pizza Co: What is it like training at the University of Bath?

Ben Fletcher: I love training at the University of Bath, everything at the university is designed for performance! The facilities are fantastic, the coaching is of the highest level and the atmosphere of a multi-sport environment is really nice as you get to spend time and rub shoulders with athletes from a really wide range of sports, who are usually right at the top of their chosen sport. It really is a pleasure and honour to training at the University of Bath.

Bath Pizza Co: What does it take to make it to the top in the Judo world?

Ben Fletcher: It takes years of dedication, blood, sweat and tears. You really have to work day in day out for years to try and make it to the top in judo; you have to make everything else in your life revolve around judo which is difficult. But that also is the appeal for me and I know it is for many other athletes. It's really hard, but that’s also what makes it so sweet when you get to the top or start winning at the top level.

Bath Pizza Co: What’s the best way to get into Judo if you’ve never stepped foot on the mats before?

Ben Fletcher: Just to find your local club. For children it's quite easy, there are a lot of schools now which allow the children to learn or try judo at school. But if this isn't an option most towns will have a local judo club, so find out where your local club is and give it a go, i'm sure you will love it!

Bath Pizza Co: We know you’re a big Bath Pizza Co fan; where does our wood fired pizza fit into your professional diet?

Ben Fletcher: You are right I love a Bath Pizza Co pizza, I have one of your pizzas as a treat, it's not something I eat everyday. Saying that though, as pizzas go they have to be one of the healthiest pizzas around with half the calories of most chain pizza companies and lots of locally sourced ingredients which not only are better for you and the planet, they make the pizzas taste amazing.

Bath Pizza Co: We’re looking forward to getting you in the kitchen and learning to throw some dough in the next few months. Do you have a go-to favourite pizza at Bath Pizza Co?

Ben Fletcher: I like most of the pizzas I have to say but my personal favourite is the Tunley Farm Chicken and Pesto!

Bath Pizza Co: Cheers Ben, we’re looking forward to our Judo session with you in the near future!

we're dog friendly!

we’re very dog friendly

Tags: Dog friendly, Restaurants for Dogs in Bath

We love hosting you four legged friends - tag them on their visit @BathPizzaCo

If you’re a dog owner in Bath, working out where you can or can’t go for a drink or some food with your dog can be a pain. Some Bath establishments are pooch friendly while others are simply unable to accommodate them.

However, we’re pleased to have been dog friendly since we opened in March 2016.

the-best-dog-friendly-pubs-bar-restaurants-in-bath

Front terrace action at Bath Pizza Co/Green Park Brasserie

Bath is home to some excellent pubs and cafes where you take your dog - both in the city centre and slightly further afield, on the outskirts of Bath’s town centre.

We host customers every week and their dogs and thought we’d put together some useful tips for planning a trip out to a restaurant/pub/bar/cafe with your dog. Big thanks to some of our regular dog loving customers who suggested some of these key tips.

Don’t be afraid to ask for water

At Bath Pizza Co we’re dog friendly and have several dog bowls available to fill up for thirsty dogs. Just speak to our friendly team at the bar and we’ll ensure they’re well watered - let us know if they need a refill.

Always, always check ahead

Do call in advance. There’s nothing worse than either having to leave your dog outside or turning home if the establishment you’re hoping to have a drink or meal at can’t accommodate them. Some restaurants, pubs, bars and cafes have this information on their website too.

Locate the nearest “facilities” for your dog

No-one likes unexpectedly stepping in a puddle. We’re a stone’s throw from the spacious park - “Green Park” which is a minute walk from our seating area. It’s always worth a brief stroll before arriving at the premises, wherever you’re headed.

Feeding you dog

One of our suppliers, Marshfield Farm Ice Cream are now making a dog friendly ice cream - so watch this space for the summer months as we may be stocking “Scoop’s Ice Cream for Dogs.”

Scoops ice cream for dogs includes: Glucosamine, ideal for your dog’s joint care, Hemp oil (rich in Omega 3) for a glossy coat, Vitamin C, a fundamental for your pets immune system and Curcumin, a natural anti inflammatory.

Nearby walks

Some of Bath’s restaurants pubs and cafes have amazing footpaths and walks available on their door-step. One or two establishments also have printed walking guides so you can really make a day of it. A couple of our favourites which have handy local walking guides are The Packhorse Pub in Southstoke and The Hare & Hounds up on Lansdown.

bath rugby partnership

Bath Pizza Co announce partnership with Bath Rugby for the forthcoming 2019/20 season.

We’re proud to be sponsoring Levi Douglas, one of Bath Rugby’s second rows. Levi has been with Bath Rugby since joining the club in 2015 from French club, Oyonnax Rugby.

bath-rugby-2019-2020-levi-douglas.jpg

We’re delighted to be involved with the club this season and to sponsor Levi - as well as fuelling him with a pizza or two.

Our own business mantra has been about playing a positive role in Bath’s local community - something that Bath Rugby are also hugely passionate about.

As well as being Bath Rugby supporters for a long time on a personal level, it is also wonderful to have the opportunity to be aligned with the club’s ethos and vision of the city and local community.

Go well, Levi!

Bath Rugby’s season kicks off on Saturday 21st September away at Exeter Chiefs in the Premiership Rugby Cup, before the Gallagher Premiership starts with a season opener under the lights at Bristol Bears on Friday 18th October.

spotlight on: our dough

Over the next few months we’re sharing the stories of our products, ingredients and food producers who make our pizza great.

In our first series, where better to start than the foundations of any great pizza place - the dough - and more specifically the key ingredient behind it, flour.

Fresh is best and we’re proud to work to that mantra every day making dough 7 days a week to create awesome pizza.

Your may have tried our gluten free pizza dough, which we produce here on site at Bath Pizza Co too. We’re incredibly proud to make our pizzas from scratch for our menu.

As the casual dining sector and expectations of the public shifts when it comes to the pizza world, people expect excellent quality ingredients and no longer settle for the pre made frozen bases and ingredients that previously dominate the pizza industry.

Our pizza dough

While we can’t give away the secrets of our pizza dough process and how exactly how we do things, we can share that we use a fantastic flour that we base our pizza dough process around: Polselli Classica “La Zero” Soft Wheat Flour type “0” which is produced and imported from Italy - right in the middle between Rome and Napoli.

Especially designed to be used in wood fired or gas/wood fired combination ovens, the Classica is a flour blend obtained by milling selected tender grains of domestic and foreign origin.

pizza-association-napoli.jpg

The Classica “La Zero” soft wheat flour type “0” has the high coverted mark of the Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana.

Perfect for producing pizza in the traditional Neapolitan pizza style, it it is highly recommended for working using the direct method with medium leavening times and perfect for stretching at home as we now sell our dough to takeaway for aspiring pizza makers.

Keep an eye our for our next Spotlight blog post where we’ll be showcasing our awesome oven.

Summer menu news

From day one, we’ve been proud to make our pizzas fresh from scratch.

With our popular home made dough and home made gluten free pizza dough we’re bringing some summer specials to our menu in the next few weeks.

world environment day

A huge thank you to everyone who supported our Pizza for Plastic initiative for World Environment Day this afternoon.

Today we:

  • Collected 1, 736(!) plastic bottles to recycle into clothing, carpets and sleeping bags

  • Served up 144 pizzas to support World Environment Day

  • Reached over 24,000 (approx.) people in our local area with news of World Environment Day

This is probably the least enticing image you’ll see on our website by a country mile. But it’s an important one. We’re emptying these bags out to be recycled with our waste recycle partner over the next couple of days.

1, 736 plastic bottles were collected in just 3 hours. These will now be recycled into clothing, carpet, other plastic bottles and sleeping bags

1, 736 plastic bottles were collected in just 3 hours. These will now be recycled into clothing, carpet, other plastic bottles and sleeping bags

While we're pleased to have encouraged so many people to consider their recycling habits and their personal plastic consumption this is a staggering amount of plastic for just a few hours of collection.

We hope this will bring attention to just how much plastic consumption our society is creating demand for - and encourage our local community to think more carefully about the products the buy and where they shop.

What we know is pizza - we’re not environmental experts - but today has highlighted the frightening volume of plastic consumption there is in our community. We hope our customers and community will rethink plastic waste and see today as an inspiring way to rethink the impact they make on the environment on a daily basis, not just for one day.

Thank you to everyone who support the initiative today, keep your eyes on our Facebook and Instagram for our next campaign.

Summer in Bath: How to do Bath in the summer

Bath is a pretty special place year round - but our city comes into its own during the summer months. With some fantastic outdoor events and places to enjoy the sunshine, we’ve put together our top 5 places to hang out when we’re not kneading dough.

Catch the hot air balloons taking off almost every evening throughout the summer from Royal Victoria Park.

This is one of Bath’s best green spaces and the park is only 10 minutes walk from Bath city centre beyond the Royal Crescent. This is a brilliant post-work spot to enjoy views of the city and soak up the atmosphere as Bath’s hot air balloon companies launch for the arial views and sunset over Bath.

Beyond Bath: Cycle the canal

Hire a bike and head out into the countryside with pub stops at The George (Bathampton), Cross Guns (Avoncliff) and one of Bradford on Avon’s tea rooms. The canal path winds east of the city through stunning countryside and villages and features two impressive Aqueducts along the way. Head out from Bath towards Bradford-on-Avon and return via Monkton Combe village picking up the the Two Tunnels back into Bath.

Taste of the West are the largest independent regional food group in the UK championing food and drink across the South West. That's Cornwall, Devon, Dorset, Gloucestershire, Somerset and Wiltshire.

We’re over the moon to have been awarded another Gold Award in just 3 years of business.

Bath Pizza Co Director, Alex Peters said: “These awards really the the hallmark of quality food and drink in the South West. We’ve celebrated the fact we buy locally with the Bath Farmers’ Market and other Somerset suppliers since we opened 3 years ago. To have further recognition from Taste of the West is testament to the quality of our pizza and the skill of our chefs and friendly service from our bar team.”

Bath Pizza Co will be celebrating the Gold award and their 3 years of business with a £3 Margherita offer on Monday 8th April.

Over £300 raised for Bath Mind!

Last summer we launched a special pizza during Mental Health Awareness Week 2018 to raise funds and awareness for Bath charity Bath Mind. We’re pleased to announce that we’ve raised £312 for the charity.

£2 from every sale of the “Judoka pizza” went to Bath Mind.
